We spoke to a park ranger who stated that the lot can be completely full by 2 am!!Car camping is not permitted in this lot. Due to the distance of the Longs Peak hike, most hikers arrive between 3 and 5 am to start their hike. Hikers that are attempting to summit Longs Peak start at the same trailhead and park in the same parking lot. Overflow parking tends to line the road as you approach the parking lot. At the end of this road is a parking lot that can hold approximately 20 cars.
